A specialised clinic to maintain and help manage weight problems.
Specialist nurses and GPs can offer advice on the best contraception method for you; this could include the pill.
Chronic Disease Management
If you suffer from asthma, diabetes, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or hypertension the practice offers specialised clinics to advice on healthy living and best treatment to maintain your symptoms.
Specialist nurses will syringe ears, treat and advice on ear problems.
Smears should be carried out every 3-5 years. If you are due a cervical smear, please speak to one of the reception team.
CVD Risk Assessments
A test to measure activity within the heart muscle.
The practice also provides complex procedures such as removal of ganglions.
A special test designed to diagnose chronic bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or emphysema.
The practice provides minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic. These include removal of skin-tags, small cysts and joint injections.
Health care technicians and trained phlebotomist will take blood for testing at the hospital.
Well Man Clinics
Child Health Assessment
This involves regular assessment of children up to the age of five years old by the health visitor and GP.
Well Baby Clinic
Held every Wednesday (13:30 - 15:00 appointment only). This clinic offers the opportunity for you to bring your baby for weight/growth checks and discusses parenting issues with the health visitor. This clinic is for well babies only; if your child is unwell they need an appointment with a GP.
NHS Health checks
If you are aged between 40 and 74, haven’t got any long term conditions, are a smoker or have a BMI over 25 then you will be contacted by the surgery to offer this service to you.
