Patient Group
Purpose of The Group
The Key Role of the Group is to bring together patients, doctors and members of the practice team to work in partnership in order to promote the wellbeing of patients and support the practice to provide a high quality of care and service delivery.
Roles and Functions
- Act as a planning tool – can be consulted on service development and provision.
- Provide feedback on patients’ needs, concerns and interests.
- Feedback information from the community, in general which may affect healthcare.
- Give patients a voice in the organisation
- Give feedback to NHS Trusts on consultations
- Liaise with other Patient Participation Groups in the area.
- Will not act as a forum for discussion of personal or health-related complaints against the practice.
General Information
Getting issues raised at the patient reference group – Simply put your thoughts to paper and address them to the Patient Reference Group, care of Ash Grove Medical Centre, England Lane, Knottingley, WF11 0JA.
Official patient complaints should not be sent to the group, these should be directed to the Practice Manager of the same address.
Recruitment
The patient reference group is always keen to take on new members. If you are interested in joining the group please forward a letter of interest to Jo Hewlett (Practice Manager), Ash Grove Medical Centre, England Lane, Knottingley, WF11 0JA
Representation of The Group
We are keen to enhance the representation of our Practice population on this Group. We are looking in particular for young parents, young people, employed & non-employed patients, those with disabilities, carers, patients with a chronic disease and patient representatives from ethnic minorities.
